- Overview of Plunderer & its Synopsis
- Plunderer Release Date
- Cast & Staff
- Posters & Trailers
- Expectations for the Anime
Alright, let’s start our overview of Plunderer. Although the title actually sounds lame, the story isn’t what it seems like on the surface. Plunderer is basically a pretty generic action-fantasy story, however, it definitely catchy and once you started delving into its world, it’s a story that you’ll fall in love over and over again without being flashy or over the top.
The upcoming Plunderer TV anime is based on a manga series with the same title written and illustrated by Suu Minazuki who is also known for his other work, the manga series Heaven’s Lost Property. The manga was first serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine on December 26, 2014.
PLUNDERER SYNOPSIS
In a post-apocalyptic world dominated by the so-called “Numbers,” each human will have their identity branded with their own “Count,” which could define any number related to their life. May it be one’s walked distance or amount of compliments given to them by others, this Count could lead them to the abyss when it has dropped to zero. In the year 305 of the Alcian calendar, Hina has inherited a mission from her Mother, whose Count has depreciated to zero, to search for the Legendary Red Baron. In her adventure, she meets a half-masked swordsman named Licht who tries to hide his identity, as he is known as a degenerate for having an incredibly low Count. (Source: MAL News)

PLUNDERER ANIME VISUALS & TRAILERS
Plunderer Visuals
So far, there are three (3) key visuals for the anime that has been revealed as seen below.
Plunderer Teaser Videos
Furthermore, there several teaser videos and PVs that were unveiled so far giving us a glimpse at what to expect with the anime’s animation quality and character designs. Furthermore, it also let us take a peek at its world, and what are the basic anime cliché that we must expect from it.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN PLUNDERER ANIME SERIES?
Alright, so the question now is that, what we should expect from the upcoming anime adaptation of Plunderer.
Typical Shounen Anime Cliché
Yes, the story of Plunderer is just like any other fantasy-adventure anime but what’s good to look forward in it is the fact that it’s getting addicting once you delved deeper into its story. This has been the flaws of many shounen-anime shows as they became stagnant and left its plot stays on the surface. Nonetheless, the manga had been a pretty interesting ride, giving off so many Heaven’s Lost Property vibes. However, it still depends whether the anime could implement this magic into its production and it could only be learned when Plunderer TV anime officially kick-off.
Random Dosage of Ecchi
While for some anime fans, this is a big turn off, I have to admit that many people nowadays find entertainment in the existence of ecchi in the anime series, albeit on a moderate degree. After all, majority of the anime series nowadays have heavy dosage of fan service which could either make it or break it for the whole show.
Beautiful Art & Characters
As I said, we’ll have that spectacular Heaven’s Lost Property vibes here with seemingly interesting characters. And the world-setting is something to look forward as it really looks fascinating… and intriguing.
PLOT TWIST, ETC.
Most of the manga readers have mixed opinions about the story especially with so many plot twists that took place in the middle of its run. Nonetheless, we will not sure yet how far does the anime adaptation will go. So, we’ll find that out soon once the anime had been released since the total number of episodes for the anime, wasn’t revealed yet.
In the end, I have Plunderer as one of my most highly anticipated TV anime adaptation in the first quarter of 2020. If you have read the manga of Plunderer, what are your expectations on its anime series? Please let us know by leaving your comment in the comment section.
